Pharma - how are drug companies using patient engagement?

I'm not sure what to think about this and welcome others' thoughts. On the one hand it is hard to trust Pharma and on the other, where would we be without them?

I've run across this initiative which sounds good on the surface but would like to know more. A group of pharma companies have got together to do this:
