This is from a company that sells to organizations - Ayogo

Very interesting set of tips> I enjoy seeing how they plan to harness my motivations.

After they go through how to motivate Type A's, they go on to the Type D atient (news to me that that was a patient group)

3 Tips When Engaging with a Type A Personality Patient:

We all know the Type A patient-someone motivated, even driven to succeed and stressing to get things right when it comes to managing their health. Most experienced physicians and healthcare providers know it is important to empower the Type A patient by providing more information, and accepting the patient's self-advocacy as a gift, not a threat. They will be looking on the Internet for advice. And they may be catastrophizing from what they're reading. Give your patient reliable evidence-based information. Hostility used to be associated with Type A Personality, but digging deeper, it's more that they get frustrated when they are contradicted. Validate the Type A Personality Patient when they discover reliable information on their own. Turn them onto sites like Patients Like Me that are producing new data based on experiential, and personal knowledge.

      1. Stressing out is classic Type A behavior.

      2. Honor their sense of urgency.

Delays, waits and slow-paths to action all reduce patient satisfaction for your Type A Personality Patient. Type A Patients may want to collaborate with their providers, and know the fastest path through treatment to the desired outcome. The Type A Patient may be willing to trade short-term pain in the form of more intensive or complex treatment if it improves outcomes.

      3. Harness their competitive side.

Social applications with peer-to-peer support and challenges can be an excellent way to turn negative competition into healthy challenges. The whole Quantified Self movement is populated with Type A Personalities who measure their own performance and compete against themselves.
