They had a Patient Challenge and included patients last year. I'll ask them what is happening this year. If we're not included at the beginning, it's easy to wonder about the partner bonds we have with them, though it was only 2 weeks ago that they invited 36 patients for a 2 day event aimed at getting our thoughts and opinions about digital health.

I'll send an email and see what I can find out.

I hope they decide to make this a #patientsincluded event. Keep us posted what you find out, Annette. 🙂

I sent an email to Christina Northcott and asked her for info. We'll see what we get back.

Here's what I heard today from them. Sounds likely that something will happen.

"Thanks for the note. I was off on Monday and shared your inquiry with the broader team at Infoway.

Justin will be in touch shortly to expand on Infoway's plans."

How can someone get involved/invited to this event. Are there affiliations required? If patients are included is/how would transportation be funded for out of province participants? Sorry, if I have completely missed something. 🙂

Last year the Partnership Conference had a Patient Challenge. They invited people to write up some information about the value of digital health. Then they judged the entries and invited 5 patients from across the country - they paid transportation, accommodation and maybe a daily stipend I think and included them in the conference.

They invited me too as an attendee since I was on the advisory committee. It's not a big number of patients but the conference itself was fairly small and I thought the Infoway people were very welcoming

                      Gail ~

If this was a truly #patientsincluded event according to the charter (https://patientsincluded.org/conferences), a minimum of 2 scholarships covering all travel/expenses/registration costs would be provided. It's up to the conference to whom they want to open up the scholarships to; for instance, for Quality Forum in BC, access to the conference was open to members of Patient Voices Network. They ended up funding 20 (amazing!) patients to attend. So, many different ways it can be done. I would hope that Infoway would try to push towards official #patientsincluded accreditation.
