The course is opening with a talk by a patient. Last year it was ePatent Dave.

Zayna Khayat, formerly of MaRSS (the Innovation Discovery District in Toronto) said this:

Your role would be to give a 15-20 min perspective of this whole space of health innovation from the lens of a patient/family. And then field Q&A, or - even better - put the learners through some kind of experiential experience to drive home the learnings from you.

      And she's invited others

Please share with your network and invite them to join for any of the course (just ask that they let me know so we can plan seating!)

I'm sharing all of the information because there is a dynamite reading list included.

Any suggestions for the interactive segemnt of the talk? I was thinking maybe case studies with questions for them?

        Hi Virginia

I had to copy and paste the link into Chrome to get it to work. I hope that helps to make it work.

Is anyone in the Toronto area interested in spending Friday morning Jan 19 at the ending of the 2 week course? I was there on Monday only to speak about the patient perspective on innovation.

The students are divided into 4 groups and each group has to do a project concerning an unmet need that they discover in the patient group they were assigned. What we would do on Friday would be comment on their presentations of the solutions as part of a mini Dragon's Den. It's in the Rotman School building on St. George.

Here is the detailed syllabus - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BXdTqFV0YxYHqNa250EwBWAPbUXIr-E_ ; at the end is the detailed schedule. You need to put the link into Chrome for it to work - it has a great reading list.

                        Hi Deirdre

I'll send you the details by email and let the organizer know there will be three. The class ends around lunchtime and the class is going out with one of the instructors.

Maybe you and Kirk and I should go out for lunch or coffee too.

                        Annette

That is a wonderful Idea. I'll see you at 9 and leave time to meet afterwards.

                          Deirdre

For future events I would be interested in participating. I am hoping that they will be willing to use technology to hear patient perspective from those of us who are not local. I can do skype or webex etc.

                              Nice to see you Jignesh

I know that the previous year they had ePatient Dave present by video, so I'm sure that could be possible.

It always makes me crazy to see groups import patients from the US.
