If you're a patient advisor in an ON hospital, help us encourage hospitals to participate

I’m involved as a patient advisor in a research project whose aim is to better understand patient and family engagement in Ontario hospitals. The research team is led by the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute at the University Health Network, and funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

The research team has developed a survey to better understand PFE activities and supports that currently exist in hospitals. The findings may identify a core set of important activities and supporting infrastructure that will help hospitals to manage resources, and plan or evaluate PFE. Hospitals are invited to complete a one-time survey which will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Responding individuals/hospitals will not be identified. The deadline to complete the survey is July 20.

We are looking to see if patient advisors in this group can connect with their contacts at hospitals, and remind them the importance of this survey and encourage them to complete it before the deadline. I did this with the Ottawa hospital (my local hospital where I’m involved as a patient advisor) and they promptly completed the survey. I would really appreciate if you could do the same, especially since this is one of the first studies (that I’m aware of) to understand PFE activities across Ontario hospitals.
