I was asked to review a paper but I found that I have a conflict, so I was asked to refer other potential reviewers.

This is for an article that is co-led by patients as research partners on the topic of stillbirth: a qualitative study of patient's unsilenced stories.

If you have never done a review there are instructions, and they give you questions relevant to our experience as patients or caregivers.

Let me know if you would like me to refer you.

        Hi Annette,

I've done patient-authored reviews for the BMJ and Annals of Emergency Medicine. Those reviews were always interesting and impelled me to learn more about the topic, but more importantly to reflect on the challenges for expanding the medical research mentality to include the relevance and complexity of patient involvement in the facet being studied.

I'd be please to take this on, but would also be happy to defer to another PAN member who might have experienced stillbirth or has a special interest. Or, perhaps my lack of experience but my strong sensitivity to responses to death in the medical setting is an asset??

        Thanks for this opportunity!!

Warmly (even in Vancouver is has been stifling hot),
        Carolyn

          Thanks Carolyn

I passed your name on to Jessie McGowan at the CMAJ. She'll be delighted. They came up with another one for me, where I don't know the researchers. It should be an interesting challenge.
