Health Quality Ontario runs a no-charge 1 day forum each year in October. There is a combo of main tent sessions and a morning and afternoon breakout session. Attendance is limited to 3,000 people and is first come, first served. Registration just opened over the lunch hour today, so if you're interested, go sign up now:

Note that as part of the registration, they list the breakout sessions and you pick the ones you want to go to. Julie Drury is doing one in the morning on Leadership in Patient Engagement. Greg's Wings is running both morning and afternoon. There's also a session by the Ontario Patient Ombudsman, not to mention a whole ton more that I would have liked to have attended if only I could clone myself.

There's also a Patient Safety forum the day before (Tues Oct 16 - Toronto only), but it's by invitation only since it's intended for professionals in 2 specific patient safety groups. It's much smaller (800 attendees), but you can send them an email at Partners@HQOntario.ca and they will consider you for any unclaimed spots. They are interested in having some patients there if possible. The lady who receives the emails is named Maya Kwasnycia and she will reply to your email to confirm she has it. She reviews the delegates with a council in about 2 weeks and will send out acceptances thereafter. I included a paragraph showing my background in case that helps her to decide who to pick.
