CMA Conference in Toronto Apply by May 3 for Aug 12-13

Due to the huge success of last year, the CMA will be continuing its Patient Program. This year, we'll once again be offering full sponsorships to 25 patients, along with free registration for an additional 25.

The application process opened yesterday, and you can find more details in the announcement below along with the link to the application form.

Please note if you received full sponsorship last year, you're of course invited to apply but will only be eligible for one of the 25 free registration spots.

The deadline to apply is May 3, 2019.

Following on from the success of last year's inaugural Health Summit, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will be continuing its Patient Program, offering 25 full sponsorships to patient and caregiver attendees. People who receive full sponsorship will have their registration, travel and accommodation expenses paid in full, in advance. In addition, we will waive the registration fee for an additional 25 patients and caregivers who have not received full sponsorship. All other expenses are not covered.

If you received full sponsorship last year you are of course invited to attend but you will be ineligible for full sponsorship this year. However, we encourage you to apply for one of the 25 free registration positions.

On Aug. 12-13, 2019, the CMA will hold its second annual Health Summit in Toronto, Ontario. Our theme this year is "Connected in Care." The focus will be to provide a forum in which all the relevant stakeholders can connect and engage in collaborative discussions and information sharing. We want to hear from you on how best to integrate services into a high-functioning system of care, foster effective information exchanges, scale up virtual care, and more.

If you have "lived experience" in the health care system and have information you believe is of value to share, we hope you'll apply. Please click the link below to fill out the application form to tell us why you're interested in attending. We want patients to have a real voice at the summit and a meaningful opportunity to participate in the health care conversation at the national level. An internal CMA selection committee will select the 25 recipients of the full sponsorships and the additional 25 people whose registration fees will be waived. Responses will be sent out by June 12, 2019.

The summit's goal is to challenge conventional thinking, foster collaborative sharing among experts within and outside the medical profession and help shape an agenda of constructive change within Canada's health system. Hi Annette

Was so good to see you this week. I just applied for the CMA Summitt. Should have read the information first , but I think my responses were pretty much in line with what they are planning.

I hope I get accepted and see you there.

I am half way through applying - living in Toronto may be a plus. Even though I did not attend last year, all I would need is to have the registration fee waived.

It was great to meet you in person - too bad it is so hard to have time for longer discussions - the conferences are so compelling and we still need our sleep!!
