      An opportunity from SE Health

CO-DESIGN AN AGING AND MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH AGENDA

You're invited to attend a partnership-developing workshop at the Canadian Mental Health Association conference in Toronto!

      (Breakfast, Sep 25, 8.15-9.30 am)

While a discussion of the importance of mental health for older adults has been emerging across the national conversation, there remains a gap in aging focused mental health research. In response to this, the SE Research Centre and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) have begun a partnership to co-design an aging and mental health research agenda.

We are looking to expand our partnership to establish a research agenda on mental health and older adults. Our objective is to engage older adults, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and other key stakeholders to identify and prioritize unanswered questions on mental health issues in older adults from the ground up.

What would your involvement look like? We are inviting stakeholders identified through our networks and an environmental scan, as well as interested conference attendees, to join our breakfast session at the CMHA conference to kick-off this project. At this session, we will share our vision, discuss how we intend to proceed with the initiative, and seek steering committee members who will likely meet virtually after the conference.

Interested? If you would like to participate in this session, please send a response to Karthika Yogaratnam, Project Manager, at karthikayogaratnam@sehc.com to RSVP and we will send you more details about the conference. Please feel free to extend this invitation to members of your team or network who may be interested in this work!

      When? Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 from 8:15 AM - 9:30 AM.

Where? The Westin Harbour Castle (1 Harbour Square, Toronto, ON M5J 1A6)

Who is hosting? SE Research Centre & the Canadian Mental Health Association

      Thank you,

      SE Research Centre

          Hi Annette, ALL;

Thanks for the heads up. Last week, joined Wiser Advisors and I'll be attending the session on Sept. 25th, to learn more. This is an important topic and with so many Boomers aging, I'd like to see "prevention measures/strategies, as well as treatment, managing options.

Any other PAN members signed up to be there? Maybe we can meet up, live-in-person :)))

          Best to all - Denyse

                    Hi Denyse

I did not receive an invitation to this, so I will not be attending.

But I am more than happy to chat at some point this week or meet for coffee. (about Major Mackenize /SE meeting we had)

                    Thank you Liana

I posted the invite/opportunity (see top of the page) a few days ago and it was open to anyone interested.

We met the SE and CMHA team for this project and heard about the process in detail (using JLA principles - James Lind Alliance) and opportunities to engage.

Contact the project manager karthikayogaratnam@sehc.com - if you are interested

Bonus - I had the opportunity to attend the conference and meet some wonderful women including Denyse!!

I'm really excited about this project. Hope other PAN members will consider participating

So rare for me to be able meet up LIVE & in-person with a PAN colleague...just boosted spirits to have the opportunity to chat with you, Samira, other attendees and the SE folks who were there ... technology, while it has so many advantages, doesn't come close to "developing" relationships!

This project will focus on "seniors" mental health". If you are a senior or, care for one, there is much we can share and learn. If you haven't already, please do look into it. Participation is all about "whatever" you can contribute time-wise.

Our aging population, including us :))), need this kind of support and knowledge for our own self care and that of others.

                          Cheers & best,

                          Denyse
