      Become a Patient Surveyor

      Join Accreditation Canada’s team and take part in the accreditation process.

      You may be eligible to become a patient* surveyor if you...

      • Have significant and recent experience accessing and using health and/or social services.

      • Have
        experience working with health care clinicians and/or administrators as
        a patient partner/advisor on quality improvement or planning
        initiatives in health and/or social services.

      • Are able to share and use your personal experience constructively.

      • Have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

      • Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English or French.

      • Are available to attend surveyor training October 22-24, in Ottawa in English (French training to be offered in 2018.)

      • Are available to survey a minimum of 10 days per year.

      You’ll stand out if you...

      • Are available to survey more than 10 days per year.

      • Have
        contributed to training/orientation of staff to increase awareness of
        Patient and Family Centred Care and patient engagement.

      • Have participated in quality improvement and safety training.

      • Are currently part of or have taken steps to join an HSO technical committee to co-design health standards.

      • Are knowledgeable of Accreditation Canada’s accreditation process.
