        Thanks Carolyn

I would really like to attend this webinar, but have an all-day meeting. If anyone can attend, can you let us know what the top 10 lessons are?

Sometimes when you register they send you a link to the presentation. Maybe I'll sign up in the hopes they will do that.

Annette, I will definitely share the top 10 lessions on our Groupsite. I hope more members sign up for the webinar, so that we might carry on a bit of a discussion of what's presented. Francois-Pierre Gauvin is highly tuned into the patient experience, deeply respectful of the "wisdom of crowds" and very experienced through McMaster Health Forum and his other research. Thanks for your interest, Carolyn

One of the ways they recruit citizens for their panels is through using a survey company called Asking Canadians. I was really curious about how that might work so i joined the panel about a year ago, and I did get an invitation that was perfectly appropriate.

Unfortunately driving to Hamilton for the day is a lot of work so I declined. The webinars that I have seen them do so far have been useful.

              Hi Annette,

tried to sign up four hours after deadline on June 30 and was told they were filled up from overwhelming response. Materials are apparently posted to the OSSU website.

              see: http://ossu.ca/training/masterclass/

              warm regards,

              anita l-l

                That's a shame Anita

I think the huge response shows there is a demand for training like this. I think they will have at least one more class. We'll have to see when the registration opens for the next one.

I will be doing some of the presentation at one of the sessions. Out new member Lorraine Bayliss presented at the previous session.

They are altering the way they present the material as they go along.

                Annette

                    Hi Anita and Annette,

The McMaster Health Forum has many programs. The Citizen Panels are not the same as the training they provided on Patient Oriented Research through OSSU earlier this year.

Take a look here and here to learn more about the Citizen Panels that have been going on for many years. I had the chance to observe one a few years ago as a note taker. It was fascinating.

So I'm interested in what Francois-Pierre has to say on Tuesday about what they've learned from using this methodology for tapping public deliberation about important health-related issues.

                    Cheers, Carolyn
