A number of Pan-Canadian Health Organizations are being reviewed and they are looking for Stakeholder feedback. The website says: "This review will be undertaken by two recognized health policy experts, Dr. Pierre-Gerlier
Forest and Dr. Danielle Martin, who have been asked to explore the
future role of these organizations in light of a number of critical
challenges and priorities facing the health system."

Is it just me...or...could this possibly mean they are going to axe some of these organizations (which makes me scared)?? Anyone have thoughts/knowledge about this process?

These organizations include (taken from the website):

      • Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) – Educates and creates partnerships about substance abuse

      • Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) – Advises on the clinical-value and cost-effective adoption of drugs and other technologies

      • Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) – Collects/analyses/reports health data

      • Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI) – Accelerates health care innovation through partnerships

      • Canada Health Infoway – Invests in e-health infrastructure

      • Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) – Builds a culture of patient safety

      • Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC) – Accelerates action on cancer control by working with PT cancer agencies and other stakeholders

      • Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) – Develops national strategy for mental health, reduces stigma

I haven't heard about the axe although it is always a possibility. I do know that Danielle Martin is very forward thinking and believes in patient engagement.

Anyone else know anything about the review of pan-Canadian health organizations? Alies

Sorry I missed the deadline; I think CIHI and CFHI are doing great work.
