      Includes honorarium

CIHI is looking for a patient advisor to join our expert advisory group for an upcoming project reporting the results from the Commonwealth Fund International Health Policy Survey.

Patient advisors, with other members of the Expert Advisory Group (EAG), provide the project team with expert advice on the content of the Commonwealth Fund's International Health Policy survey questionnaire and CIHI's corresponding analytical products.

 The Commonwealth Fund International Health Policy Survey is an annual survey that looks at the views and experiences of users of the health system in 11 developed countries, including Canada.

 A different target population is surveyed each year over a 3-year period; this year's target is the general population (age 18+).

 CIHI's report highlights the Canadian story and examines how experiences vary across Canada and relative to other developed countries.

       Report development:

o 2 to 3 hours to review the slide deck (in September 2020)

o Approximately 1.5 hours to participate in the virtual EAG meeting (Between September 21-25, 2020)

 Some ad hoc time to respond to emails, Doodle polls, etc. (up to 2 hours in total)

The total commitment is approximately 7 hours over 1 month.

As recognition for your time and valuable contributions to our work, CIHI will offer an honorarium of $125 to those who participate.

CIHI has released a report showcasing the Canadian results of the Commonwealth Survey annually. Historical reports can be viewed here.

Each year's survey contains over 80 questions and we rely on our Expert Advisory Group to provide guidance on which questions are of the most interest and to provide contextual information to the results.

This year's survey contains questions about:

 Access to care (family physician, specialist, hospital care, emergency department)

 Healthy behaviours (smoking, drug use, alcohol)

       Mental health

       Barriers to care

       COVID-19

 Canadian residents aged 18-40 with experience with the health care system

 No formal training or professional experience required

 Access to computer and telephone required

      July, 2020
