      Hi
I have a researcher fried who is doing this project, so I am posting it in case anyone is interested in this topic..

      Annette

      MUTUAL HEALING RESEARCH PROJECT

We are doing research through the University of Alberta to help us understand how best to support patients and healthcare workers after a medical error. We think it might help the healthcare worker and the patient heal if the two parties meet and work together and talk about the medical error.

We want to talk to doctors, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, patients and/or their families to share their experiences and get their views on the idea of healing together.

The interview will be confidential, and will last about one hour. You can speak to the researcher in person (in Alberta), by videoconference or by telephone. Note that in-person interviews will not take place until social distancing requirements have been lifted. Should the interview take place in person, we will reimburse you for any parking or childcare costs for the interview.

We will also offer you the opportunity to participate in a confidential focus group session (online, where your identity can be protected) to review and comment on the study results. This is an optional activity – you are NOT agreeing to participate in the focus groups when you agree to be interviewed.

If you think you might be interested in participating in this study, please email Fabiola Diaz Carvallo at diazcarv@ualberta.ca and she will answer any questions you might have, then set up the meeting time and place if you decide to go ahead with the interview.

This study has been approved by the University of Alberta Research Ethics Board (#Pro0089611).
