      Hi Everyone,

I'm assisting Health Excellence Canada (HEC) - formerly the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI) who recently joined with Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) this past Spring, in finding a Patient Partner / Caregiver for a webinar panel session for July 20 from noon to 1pm EDT (Toronto Time).

This would be a great opportunity to share one of our voices related to Palliative Home Care in a panel session. Ideally, the theme would be around Palliative Home Care during the pandemic, but it is not necessary that Palliative Care was happening during this time. This could be the voice of someone who understands personally their story around this topic even before the pandemic.

If you are interested or if you know of someone who might be interested, please let me know or pass this on to them. There are some time constraints that they hope to find someone by this Wednesday, June 23.

Here are the tentative details about the event that was provided to me...

Seeking Patient Partner / Caregiver to be a Panel member on the topic of Palliative Home Care
Tentative Webinar date: July 20 noon to 1pm

Right now, the other confirmed speakers for July 20 are:

      1. Jeff Moat – CEO, Pallium Canada
      2. Laurel Gillespie, CEO, Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association

The webinar is framed around an upcoming report – tentatively planned for release June 23, with more info below:

A new report, Home and Community-based Palliative Care: Shaping the Future from Lessons Learned during the COVID-19 Pandemic, highlights the need for palliative care in the home and community, the unequal access to palliative care, and calls out innovative practices to address inequity and shape the future.

      · The pandemic has further strained already limited palliative care resources in the community, and this report highlights opportunities to enhance end-of-life care for people at home, including increasing provider education and caregiver support and ensuring equitable access to technology, personal protective equipment and other resources.

      · The report is based on discussions with home and community care leaders, providers and caregivers across Canada from September to October 2020, and is a collaboration between Healthcare Excellence Canada, Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, Canadian Home Care Association, and Health Canada, with the support of Pallium Canada and Canadian Virtual Hospice.

You don't need to read the full report to be the panel member with the voice sharing your own thoughts and personal experience around Palliative Home Care.
I am hoping you can assist. If they are unable to find someone for this date, they may try and change to another day in July, so if the date doesn't work for you, but you are interested, do let me know.
My email is: ron@rb33.com or just reply to me through our site here.
Again, hopefully we can find someone by June 23 to confirm.

      Thanks everyone - Ron Beleno
