Just Launched - This Online Supplement (OS) was inspired by a growing concern about ethical misconduct surrounding scholarship in our field of health professions education research (e.g., Artino Jr et al., 2018). In this OS we begin with authorship decision-making, as it is a publicly-facing and often very challenging aspect of research and scholarship. This OS fosters and supports ethical collaborative research practices in the context of the academic health sciences, and introduces authorship guidelines used by most leading health journals. We will then explore limitations and how factors such as culture, power, and relationships can complicate the application of these guidelines in practice. Throughout this OS you will encounter activities to support your understanding and practical tools to support your collaborative research practice.
