Dr Patel is interested in engaging with citizen advocates for my research projects as well as an International Citizen Panel. Here is a little description she gave me to share:

"Dr. Tejal Patel is conducting research on the appropriate use of automated medication dispensers that dispense medications, provide reminders and also track medication taking in real-time, data which is provided to care partners and healthcare professionals to identify medication non-adherence and intervene as necessary. Dr. Patel is interested in working with patient advocates as she develops criteria, or a road-map, by which clinicians can help patients decide which options are best to use based on patient characteristics, needs and limitations. "

I talked to Dr Patel last week and she is ambitious in her vision of an International Citizen Panel in the future.
Re: the automated medicine dispenser and other medication ideas, I agreed to contribute my time without compensation while we were working on applications for funding. She is planning to include patient compensation in her research budgets.
