Roz Fanaieyan, one of the research leads at the Centre for Digital Health Evaluation (CDHE) at Women's College Hospital. Are you interested in helping the team develop a maturity model to assess clinical information systems, healthcare, and/or health systems in Ontario for Ontario Health Teams (please scroll to the bottom for definitions of clinical information systems and maturity models).

For more information about the workshops, please review the attached file “Evaluation Information Sheet – Co-Design workshop.”

      Evaluation Information Sheet_Co-Design Workshop_Patient Partners.pdf

Your participation will involve attending one orientation session, and one to two workshops where we will work in a group to design a maturity model together. Whether you attend one or two workshops is up to you. In addition to patient/caregiver advocates like yourself, they are also inviting health system leaders, clinicians (I.e., doctors, nurses, etc.), and members of Ontario Health Teams. These workshops will be held virtually over zoom and will last 2-hours.

The orientation session is exclusive for patients and will be an opportunity to discuss the project further and answer any questions you may have. This session will be held on April 20thfrom 3:00-4:00pm EST. While this orientation session is optional, they encourage you to attend so that you can ask any questions and raise any concerns you may have before the workshops.

The dates for the workshops are:

      | Workshop | Date and Time
      | 0 | April 20th, 3:00-4:00pm EST (Patient orientation - optional)
      | 1 | April 27th, 2:00 - 4:00 pm EST
      | 2 | April 29th, 9:30am - 11:30am EST
      | 3 | May 26th, 9:30am - 11:30am EST
      | 4 | June 1st, 9:30am - 11:30am EST

If you are interested, please respond to this email and let them know

      1. what dates you are available and
      2. whether you are interested in attending one or two workshops.

You will also be provided with a $25 gift card for each workshop attended as a small token of appreciation for your time.

If you have any questions, please contact the Research Coordinator, Marlena Dang-Nguyen at marlenadang.nguyen@wchospital.ca.

      · What is a clinical information system (CIS) and why is it important?: CIS such as electronic medical records, are information management platforms that support the collection, access, use, and sharing of health information. CIS are widely used by healthcare providers to deliver care. If used correctly, CIS can better the performance of health care organizations and may improve patient outcomes.

      · What is a maturity model?: Maturity models are frameworks (like a report card) that can be used to evaluate and inform the development of practices, operations, and systems in healthcare. A maturity model for clinical information systems can be used to help understand how to improve clinical information systems to have a positive effect on patient care and patient outcomes.
