We would like to share an exciting HEC engagement opportunity with you today.

      HEC Engagement Opportunity

      Healthcare
Excellence Canada is collaborating with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) to conduct policy research with the goal of understanding
experiences related to person-centered care and workforce resiliency in long-term care settings, including identifying components of ideal models of
care to implement person-centered care. The results of this research will inform new work for improvement in long-term care within HEC and CIHI. We will
first conduct semi-structured interviews with key informants throughout July, and then move on to policy lab roundtable dates from August to October. We will
send out a final report of the overall policy lab findings via email, after the conclusion of this research in the Fall of 2022.

The teams responsible at HEC are the Innovations and Strategic Development team led by Director Tanya MacDonald, and the Health Policy team led by Director Jan Byrd.

Who do we hope to engage?

We would like to interview 4-5
patient partners and have 4-5 patient partners attend the policy lab session dates. We are looking to engage individuals with lived experience of long-term
care as a resident or family member / Essential Care Partner. The questions will be focused on the topic of experiences, expectations, and perceptions of person-centered care within
      long-term care settings.

      Language:

The interviews and policy lab can be hosted in English and French**.**

      Time commitment:

Interview: 1 hour, light prep work (reading a brief background document), scheduled around patient partner availability between 8 am to 6 pm Eastern Time weekdays in July.

      Policy Lab:
4 dates between late August to October (TBD, will be set by HEC team but will likely be during 9am to 5pm Eastern Time on weekdays), 2 hour session on each
date, light prep work (reading a brief background document).

      Recognition:

We will be offering $50 for each interview and $600 for attendance at the 4 policy lab roundtable sessions (dates TBD, but
will need to attend all 4 dates as the session content builds off previous sessions.)

      Who to contact if interested:

Please contact Joanna Burke-Bajaj, Program Lead at HEC – Joanna.burke-bajaj@hec-esc.ca if you are interested. Please
indicate if you are only interested in one of the engagement methods (the interview or policy lab roundtable), otherwise we will assume you are
interested in contributing to either of them.

      All the
      best,

      HEC’s
      Patient Engagement & Partnership team
