What is commonly measured in the healthcare system isn’t how safe care is but how harmful it has been. This webinar will highlight findings from a research study which aimed to answer, “How safe is care from the perspective of patients, families, care partners, and care providers?” Grounded in the Measuring and Monitoring of Safety Framework, this research represents critical shift how patients perceive and experience safety, as well as how patients, care partners and providers, together, can enable safer care. I was able to listen in on this and wished that I had been able to contribute to the conversation, this is a topic for which I have lived experience as a patient and as an Essential Care Partner. During the call I got a sense that they were in need of people with lived expertise to contribute to establishing a framework for patient safety within our health care system. Sign me up!

You can contact HEC directly and let them know of your interest and your attendance at the webinar. I looked for a patient partner specific contact but there is none so the general one will have to do. info@hec-esc.ca

I have just heard back from HEC and they said the best email for patient partners is at: Patient Partnership - Partenariat avec les Patients patientpartnership-partenariat@hec-esc.ca.
