      What this project is about

Returning to work and staying at work can be challenging for an ill or injured worker. Many people are involved, including people in the workplace like managers, human resource professionals and unions. It is important that those involved know the best ways to support the worker to remain on the job.

Through this research we are developing tools and resources for workplaces to support workers. To do so effectively, it is important to gain an understanding of the challenges of those in the workplace in doing so and how and what resources might be helpful as well as some of the barriers to implementing resources.

To do so we are conducting interviews with individuals involved in the development of resources to help workers return to work following sickness absence or the onset of episodic disability or their use.

This project is funded by the Work Wellness Institute as part of the Harnessing Talent project (an ESDC’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities Working with Employers Initiative).

      · The interview will take approximately 60 minutes. on Zoom

      · We will ask you to share your knowledge and experiences about supporting workers sustain their work.

      · This interview will be recorded (sound only). The recording will be transcribed (copied to text).

      · You will not be identified by name in any text or reporting of the discussion.

You agree to not identify by name of other people or organizations that are part of your experiences

As a token of appreciation, we will provide you with a $50 electronic gift certificate to a vendor of your choice for participating or the option of donating this amount to the charity of your choice.

You can contact the Research Coordinator, Julia Goyal at jgoyal@workwellnessinstitute.org. This study has been reviewed and received ethics clearance through Trent University Office of Research and Innovation (ORE#27907). If you have questions, please contact Jamie Muckle, Coordinator, Research Conduct and Reporting at jmuckle@trentu.ca.

        Hi Nadine

If you would like to be interviewed, the Research Coordinator (Julia Goyal) can be reached at jgoyal@workwellnessinstitute.org
I met one of the team in the past at a course that CIHR-SPOR put on a few years ago.
