Are there any projects about home care, clients and caregivers that you know about?

Not that I know of Alies. But if I come across any, I'll let you know.

          Hi Alies,

You may be aware of this but the Change Foundation is sponsoring three caregiver projects.

this is more of an opportunity for caregivers but the PHC research day may perhaps be of some relevance to some w-in PAN.

"Patient Engagement in Primary Health Care Research Day"...Abstracts from patients and citizens are encouraged by the June 4, 2018 SPOR unit in Dartmouth. If you are a patient or a community member and have an idea for a poster or a presentation about your experiences in primary health care research or results from a project you're involved in, but aren't sure how to get started, please get in touch with the organizers. There may be some support available for printing costs for patient and citizen posters, if the work isn't already associated with research funding.

            see more details at: https://www.dal.ca/sites/cor-phc/primary-health-care-research-day-/PHCRD2018/abstracts2018.html

            kind regards

Vivian, thanks for this. I am actually aware of the Change Foundation projects. I'm hoping to find others across Canada. Alies

The Canadian Home Care Association and Carers Canada are involved in this area. I work with them and would be happy to ask their lead on this to contact you. They are also involved in this area internationally.

I am a member of Age Friendly London ON and we are doing a local project on caregiver needs in our area. One resource we have identified is the Caregiver Exchange which is a subsite of the Healthline. Paul Cavagnah is the lead on this and he could be very helpful to your work. He has just launched an online forum for our local area as part of the Caregiver Exchange website.

You should also be aware that CSA has just published a new national standard to help organizations implment policies which are caregiver friendly. Workplace supports are very important to our informal caregivers. Let me know if I can be of more help.

Jeanne, thanks so much. I may get back to you about linking up with Paul and other stuff if I need more info.

Interesting that the CSA has a standard about this. Do you know of anything outside ON?

                      Hi

Have you been involved with the Canadian Cancer Action Network? they had been doing a lot of work around caregivers.

Diana, sorry for the delay in responding, I've been off on holidays.

I have not been involved with the Canadian Cancer Action Network. I'll ask my colleagues if they have been. Thanks for the tip! Alies
