We have 16 of us on a lively discussion about what we need to know as patient partners when we are on a digital health project.

Many issues around digital health came up around compassionate care, making sure no one is left out, cost of digital devices/internet and so on.

Take a look at the recording. We hope to have more of these discussions and would welcome any feedback on areas of focus. Cheers!

Thanks for posting this. I wasn't able to attend but have just watched the recording. This is helpful as I've just been invited to participate in a virtual palliative care research group.

thanks for sharing this Jim - is the palliative care group under CDHE or some other group? I did some work on home based palliative care when I was working for the Canadian Home Care Association and I would be happy to share that report with you, if you are interested. Also, I am helping the paramedic community with some competency standards work in this area - let me know what you are working on and perhaps we can share some info

It will be for the Fraser Health Authority in BC and the position was advertised through ReachBC. Yes, please, I'd happily receive that report.
I will let you know when I hear back and receive more info.

Jim, here is the link to the work I did at CHCA : https://cdnhomecare.ca/op-ex-mapping-the-palliative-care-experience/. CHCA has also published a report in 2021 on lessons learned during covid re: palliative care and that will include a focus on virtual care. I have attached pdf . Plus I would suggest looking at the updated Health Standards Organization (HSO) national standard on palliative care.

Thanks, Jeanne for those resources. I look forward to spending some time reviewing the information.
Speaking of Fraser Health, I just reviewed a panel discussion from last year's HeartLife Foundation education day that featured a palliative care nurse from Fraser looking at advanced care planning. It was very helpful and gave me some exposure to what they are doing.
