The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology is developing Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for Adults and Older Adults.

A committee including the research team, knowledge users, international collaborators, and process evaluation consultants has been assembled to do this work. There is room to invite one additional lay person representative to provide their perspective during the process of guideline development. We are looking for a female aged 20-44 (there is already a male representative, and an older adult).

That person would attend two meetings in Ottawa, with travel expenses paid and meals provided. Our first meeting is in Ottawa from October 18th (5pm start) to October 21st (adjourn at noon) 2018. The second meeting would be 12-18 months later.

There is no preparation required, nor qualifications. The meeting will be conducted in English, so the lay representative must be fluent in English.
Anyone interested in learning more should contact Robert Ross at rossr@queensu.ca.

Hi Alies, I do not fit the age category but I am VERY experienced and involved with our Older Adults Fitness programs locally. I have been a FAB activator (Fun Active Babes) putting on monthly fitness samplers for senior women for free for the past 8 years. I have also participated as an advisor for many related senior fitness initiatives. Also successfully obtained government grants to run the program. Women love what we, the FAB Four do. Everything from scuba diving to belly dancing, water walking, bocce and billiards!

Kathy, I think you can feel free to contact Robert Ross and let him know of your interest. If he doesn't have anything that fits, he may well know others that do. He may also keep you in mind if he starts a new project that works for you. Cheers! Alies
