The Nurses Practitioners' Association of Ontario will be holding its annual conference on September 21 - 23, 2017 in Toronto at the Sheraton Centre Hotel, 123 Queen Street.

They're thinking of having a panel presentation on Friday, September 22 in the morning with various speakers discussing the topic of drug interactions, prescribing opioids and pain management.

They would like to have a patient on this panel as well. They are reaching out to us to see if we can recommend anyone that might like to speak to this? Share their experiences? etc.

Virginia, I don't know if they will fund patient participation. It is worth sending an email to them to ask. I know some of our colleagues have done that with other conferences in the past. It sometimes works.

I, too, have chronic pain which is mostly manageable, coming from a car accident some 40+ years ago. I'm off to the doctor to try again to get some help other than pills tomorrow. Mostly I have just given up since it usually does not get in the way of my carrying on other than exhaustion and distraction.

Good luck with the conference - do let us know how it goes. Alies
