      Hi All

I got a request to invite people to formally join Wiser Advisors myself, and to ask/invite people who have lived expertise with home care, Long term care, aging in place
      https://sehc.com/wiseradvisors

It's a project of Saint Elizabeth Health Care. Here's their definition:

What is a Wiser Advisor? Advisors can be clients, patients, family caregivers, or families, who are willing to share their experiences and perspectives, in order to help us design a better health care system, and make positive social impact. Advisors provide feedback, co-create, and generally provide input into projects, policies or services we are developing. These projects are focused on research, quality improvement and innovation, and aim to improve the experience of clients and caregivers.

It's ongoing and they match people up with their projects depending on the answers they give. They told me this idea was created with patients. I heard about the project at one of their open breakfasts.

It would make a good title eh?

Hi Annette, my partners father and wife are dealing with upcoming surgeries, downsizing, home care, etc.

Davids father previously had a very negative experience when his wife passed in long term care and is very concerned and frustrated.

I would be interested but I’m not actually Family of the two seniors I mentioned which makes it difficult for me to step in a fix problems. Acting as a 3rd Party can be very difficult.

You're actually family in my eyes but I'm not positive about this program. I can find out.

In real life many people aren't lucky enough to have family who both can and will help them as life gets more difficult.

I've found out that all-Canada is good for joining Wiser Adviser, and friend and in-law caregivers are fine.

I just asked my St Elizabeth contact and she texted me the answers.

            Annette

I signed up as a Wiser Advisor just over a week ago and already seeing some exciting opportunities come through

Thanks Annette, when Davids father was in hospital the hospital wouldn’t even talk to him or his brother because they only had his wife listed as next of kin.

That just seemed so wrong, nurses should have been able to update the sons when they visited. He had a brain bleed so the father could not remember what was accurate and current information.

                I will look into

It still seems very Ontario centric. Do they have partners across canada so that here in Saskatchewan I can contribute to either canada as a whole or even my own village. Just wondering Thanks.

                            Hi Heather,

I checked with my contact, Zayna Khyat and she informed me that the person to ask is Paolo Korre

                            PaoloKorre@sehc.com

I am just on the verge of going away for the week, so I will leave this info for everyone.

                            Annette

                              Heather,

I asked this very question earlier, and here is Annette's answer:

I've found out that all-Canada is good for joining Wiser Adviser, and friend and in-law caregivers are fine.
