The Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research (CAHSPR) opened up its annual meeting registration, making it easy for patient and caregiver partners to attend!!! No charge!!! Hooray!!! And many PAN members signed up.

PAN member Lisa Ridgway featured as patient presenter on a high powered panel - find her talk HERE starting at 50:30.

Last year in Halifax, PAN members who could attend were welcomed warmly and found the presentations and networking to be very worthwhile. Many of the top movers and shakers in Canada's healthcare research and decision-making community attended, and many PAN members, too!

Now everyone can view all sessions of the conference on YouTube.

Virtually CAHSPR hosted on May 27-28, 2020 focussed on the impacts of COVID19 on Canada’s health system, and explored A COVID Informed Vision for the Future of Healthcare and Health Services and Policy Research. The spectacular speakers and panelists discussed their views and observations on what the COVID pandemic has taught us about the delivery of healthcare in Canada, and the impacts of these lessons on health services and policy as the system evolves in response to the pandemic.

Thanks Carolyn - very excited about the opportunity to participate without the fee!!. I noticed that registration is simple and flexible. One does not have to attend all the sessions- you can choose 1 or as many as you like. This may be appealing to some folks . Hope we have a strong patient partner presence .

Dear friends, I'm thrilled that you've registered!! I've been thinking... a big patient turnout at this COVID-coping virtual event could send a strong message about patient involvement ever after.

A large registration of patient partners when there is no financial or travel barrier could change CAHSPR and beyond for years to come. Research and policy leaders will see proof of our genuine interest in being included: We are serious and the barriers are real.

Our presence in numbers would open new invitations and lower barriers for many more opportunities, local and national.

So spread the word throughout your network to build up patient and caregiver registration. The excellent program should sell itself! Come to support PAN member Lisa Ridgway!

Best wishes to all. Stay safe. See you online at CAHSPR!
                Warm regards, Carolyn

Hi everyone..... I too have registered for this conference and look forward to learning, hearing others' perspectives and hoping PAN (we) can get traction in terms of progress on our areas of needs as per our lived experiences.

Very saddened by the LTC incidents and treatment of our most vulnerable populations... if quality care for these doesn't receive the focus & improvements they desperately require, then what "hope" do we have in getting attention and improvements on other significant issues. Covid-19 has exposed our version of the "emperor has no clothes".

                          Looking forward to engaging!

                          Best,Denyse

Jo-Anne, welcome back! I hope all goes well with you.

Great to see how many have registered for CASPHR. Should be interesting this year. Let's also keep track of what works and what doesn't for virtual conferences so we can spread good tips and make the virtual world work the best it can.

That's a great idea Alies- as we embark on this new path of all things virtual , lots of learning ahead for everyone. I am co-planning a fall mini conference/webinar and would appreciate observations and suggestions from people attending these events over the next few months it would be nice to accelerate the learning curve

I registered awhile back. Has anyone received call in number or what virtual platform they are using? Just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss it.

                                    Thanks
