   CCS is re-imagining our research funding processes and recognize the importance of patient and public engagement. Engaging patients and the public helps us fund the most relevant, impactful research on cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for people affected by lung, brain, pancreatic, liver, stomach and esophageal cancer to serve as patient advisors in the development of a new research funding opportunity, called the High Mortality Initiative. Patients, thrivers, survivors, caregivers are all welcome; we are looking for people with some previous experience with research, such as having attended a conference or reviewed research proposals and who are interested in having a say about how research is funded. This is an opportunity for people to contribute their voices directly to the design and co-development of a new research initiative! Patient advisors will be asked to provide feedback on elements of the funding opportunity. This is a 3-month commitment from March to May 2022, with flexible hours, for a total of approximately 20 hours. Compensation will be provided.
