PAN has a partnership with the Centre for Digital Health Evaluation (CDHE) at Women's College Hospital (WCH), Toronto. As part of our 3 year long relationship, we have a group of patient partners focused on digital health, specifically digital health evaluations. We meet monthly as a group to learn from each other. Many members of the group also are patient partner evaluators on specific CDHE projects.

Recently, the CDHE has partnered with CIHI and CADTH as well as the Centre for Wise Practices at WCH to create a national body for digital health evaluations, the Centre for National Digital Health Evaluations (CNDHE). This will extend the evaluation projects across Canada and add to the number of projects and increase the need for patient partners. We already have a few patient partners from other provinces, NS, SK, AB, QC though many are from ON. We hope to involve more of you from outside ON.

Digital health is really just health. There are few aspects of healthcare not touch by digital in some way -- patient portals, on-line booking, remote patient monitoring, virtual care, secure messaging, eReferral, online therapies, to name a few. And coming down the pipe are things to do with artificial intelligence (AI) and genomics. Many of our projects already have digital as part of them. This is a chance to grow your understanding of the issues around digital by learning from your peers.

To start with, you will receive an orientation and join our "Working Group" of patient partners. From there, as the projects are formulating, you may choose to get involved with a specific project for which you will be compensated.

Kathleen, our focus is to build the team across Canada not just ON but all comers are welcome. You will be hearing back from either myself or Munira soon as we gather up those who have responded.
